Ready for an adventure?

I've never really been a backpack kinda girl. Since entering adulthood, the first time I bought myself a backpack was last year before I travelled to India. And even then it was a necessity purchase. There's something about them that has always felt clumsy and irked me since schooldays when everyone had big hideous bags strapped to their backs. Like my issues about shoulder pads, (a result of being forced to wear ill-fitting blazers with huge shoulders pads as part of my school uniform.. something which has also put me off wearing blazers at all..), there are still certain items that school days have left me with reservations about.

Lately though I've started to rethink my dislike of backpacks, particularly after I stumbled on these Coyote rucksacks on Fab a few weeks back. Founded by Chilean designers Matías Sierra and Florencia Tagle, the handmade backpacks are simple, practical and aesthetically pleasing. Their classic design just makes me think of 40s backpacks and vintage military rucksacks. When I look at them I think of adventures, old compasses, crumpled maps, picnic blankets, and packed lunches washed down with lashings of ginger beer. And I can't help but feel as though I've been sucked into an Enid Blyton or Arthur Ransome novel.
