sunshine and sweethearts

Having been starved of sunshine for the last few months, today's sunny weather was enough of an excuse to put everything else on hold. It's been so long since I've had the chance to just sit outside with a good book, and I intend to make the most of it while I can.

Uniform: loose curls, freckles, grey skater skirt & sweetheart cropped top.

Sunshine oh comely reading

This weekend I bought some lovely fabric and started making up my top properly... I was hoping to have finished this afternoon but I got distracted by the good weather... after all the rain we've been having though, who can really blame me? I did have a little flip through Oh Comely though while I was enjoying the rays, to get a little design inspiration for my next project.

On Sunday I caught up with Mairi and Chris (I'm their adopted third wheel), meeting their new little kitten, Hamish, and wandering around Tynemouth market. I didn't get much but came away with a nutella crepe and some new reading material, The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. I haven't started it yet because today I finished off reading Kelly Cutrone's Normal Gets You Nowhere. Have any of you read The Paris Wife?

How was your weekend?

  6. I really wish it was just a tad bit cooler so I could go outside and read. I like the sunshine, but not the humidity. :)

  9. Ah, the book title sounds so cool: the Paris Wife. What is it about?
And your outfit is very cute, especially with those hearts.

  10. Cute summer pictures :) I know how you feel about the whole summer being put on hold for so long. It's nice to finally get to start wearing the summer wardrobe. Can't wait to see your new design once it's done!

Ps. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
