Boatnecks, stripes, knotted shirts, gingham, pyjama style trousers, full skirted dresses.. where do I start?? Starring the gorgeous, gamine Jean Seberg, the film tells the story of a spoiled little rich girl named Cecile and her playboy father Raymond. Filmed in 1958, it's based on the 1954 novel by Francois Sagan (definitely worth a read also). I may be a little bit biased about this one because I love Jean Seberg, but there's too many sartorial treats in this one for you to miss it!
Stylish Moments: Bonjour Tristesse

Exciting update for my pattern cutting... I'm finally up to the design stage!! I finished my sleeveless tunic block so now I need to sketch out my design then I'll be able to draft my pattern pieces and get stitching. I already have a few ideas already, and the moment I'm leaning towards a sleeveless fifties style tunic. Maybe with a boatneck.. or possibly a peterpan collar. So of course to get some inspiration I've been watching some of my favourite fifties films, and seen as though it's been a little while since I've done a Stylish Moments post, there seemed to be no better choice than Bonjour Tristesse.
