Having decided a fringe trim was well overdue (mainly because if I left it down it was starting to eat my face/severely impair my peripheral vision), I headed in to town earlier, and of course was distracted.
Passing Topshop, I couldn't resist this little bouclé style skirt.. I feel like it's definitely a justified purchase with all the placements coming up though..
It's not easy to see on the photo, but I love the bottom is shaped slightly almost as if it's scalloped. But then finding it has not lead me to the belief that I NEED a bouclé style jacket, to smarten up other outfits. Unfortunately the Mulberry and D&G ones are slightly out of my price range, but as ever Zara have some delightful offerings which are much more friendly on the bank balance. I'm torn between whether I prefer the more muted tones or the bright, mint coloured one from the TRF section? Decisions, decisions.
On a different note, I've finished sketching my first personal block at my pattern cutting class! It's a standard tunic block but with my custom measurements, so now it's all drawn up all I have to do is add the waist shaping, then I can begin to make up the toile! After that I need to test how it fits, and then the really fun stuff will start and I can design the top I actually want to make! I've already decided I'm going to be for a simple boatneck tunic but I need to start sketching soon. In the mean time I'm investing in my own pattern cutting tools so that I can keep working outside of class. It's going to be so much fun to be back playing around with fabrics. I forgot how much I missed all of this!
