Lifestyle: A celebration of diversity with ASOS Beauty

It's not every day you're invited down to London to visit the HQ of one of your favourite brands. But if you're following me on Instagram, you'll know already that's exactly what happened to me and Helen last month! With a new edition of their magazine just off the press, they invited us down for a day focused on beauty standards and diversity. Followed by a behind the scenes look at daily life at the fashion retailer!

When it comes to beauty, I have to admit that I always feel a bit of a fraud with my content because honestly, I haven't got a clue. And being surrounded by some brilliant beauty bloggers, I felt it even more! But with their focus on diversity and what makes each of us unique, ASOS Beauty's day was about showing everyone how to celebrate their own beauty and what it really means to feel beautiful.
More than just three pretty faces, ASOS's models talked to us about their own views on beauty standards and why diversity has to be normalised. Honestly, it felt more like the kind of empowering TED Talk that makes you want to get shit done than a day of makeup tutorials. But makeup tutorials there was (too)! After the talk, we were shown three key looks: A smoky blue eye (because blue is the new black for summer) along with a sparkly festival eye look. And my favourite of the day, a dewy and natural bronzed goddess look created with Nars liquid bronzer and Ciaté Dewy Stix. Admittedly I'm still getting to grips with using the liquid bronzer and making sure that I don't end up with a face looking kinda like I've been for a spray tan...

After an afternoon of beautifying ourselves and playing with lots of new products (I had no idea ASOS Beauty offered such an extensive range of products to be honest!), we headed back to the Hoxton for a quiet night ready for the following day. After being picked up from the hotel and heading across to Camden, we arrived at ASOS's colossal headquarters. Imagine Devil Meets Prada but with extra clothes and more friendly staff. The place is insane. With racks of the latest season's looks and mood boards for upcoming trends, it's one of those places where you realise the huge scale that ASOS' operations are on. It's crazy to think how much success this brand have seen, and in under two decades of trading! But with a lovely team, committed to being at the forefront of high street fashion, it's easy to see why they're becoming such a well loved British brand.

Big thank you to Jenny and the team at ASOS for inviting me for such an amazing couple of days!
