This weekend I decided that a little trip to Tynemouth was well overdue. It's been ages since I've been the to the flea market and even when I don't spot anything that I want to buy, I love rummaging around the stalls hunting for treasure. I found some brand new Penguin books with gorgeous covers (more on them later!) and Cata bought a beautiful pair of 1940s cream gloves made of butter soft leather for £3. I fell a little in love with this pair of Victorian style boots but eventually managed to persuade myself that I did not need another pair of boots! After tiring ourselves out wandering around the market, we wandered along to Mr Woods for hot chocolates before heading to Newcastle for lunch at The Cluny. For those who haven't already been, they offer the most AMAZING Sunday roasts, but unfortunately they only serve them until 3pm, and since we decided on a late lunch (having gorged ourselves on homemade peanut brittle at the market) we settled for their homemade chilli lamb burgers served with a generous helping of salsa and mature cheese. Perfect way to end a brilliant day.
