Maurizio Anzeri

These last few weeks have been beyond hectic, but I've been getting a lot of opportunities to write which is brilliant. I'm back helping out with bits and pieces at The Crack Magazine, and last week Joseph mentioned he'd been to the Maurizio Anzeri exhibition at the Baltic, assuring me that if I went I would love it. Turns out he was right. Plus it was nice to have a little wander around the quayside, even on such a dreary day.

Anzeri's pictures are fascinating, he takes old portraits and embroiders onto them creating new images. I've always loved racking through old photo albums. There's something very voyeuristic about being able to see a tiny snippet of people's lives. The same goes for old postcards. I have dozens of postcards - I particularly love the christmas time ones- which i will have to post on. I love how personal each of them are.

Now i have a whole week off and a holiday in the sun to look forward to. Me and a very good friend are heading to Messonghi in Corfu for a weeks worth of sun, sea and sand. I literally can't wait.

Graze

With my holiday just around the corner, I'm on a massive health kick at the moment (totally ruined by 3 courses and 2.5 bottles of wine with the ladies last night...it was worth it though). In the spirit of eating (and snacking) healthy I'm loving GRAZE boxes! They come in adorable brown cardboard boxes and you just pick what you want inside.

Hailed as the BBC's answer to Mad Men.
I've only seen part 1 of 6 and I'm already hooked.

new beginnings

I am now officially a graduate.
Congrats to everyone in the UK who also had their congregations this week, I hope everything went to plan and you all had as nice a day as I did!

If you've also recently graduated too, there's a brilliant set of article on the Guardian website today offering advice. You can find the link here. I have to admit I found it reassuring to read, and realise that there were a lot of other young people out there with the same worries as me!

Queen Kate aka Mrs Jamie Hince

So me, A and her boy went for lunch today and wound up discussing the new Vogue cover over Greek food.

I love the colours, the photo is beautiful and the embroidered Miu Miu dress is gorgeous. That being said A did raise a valid point- somehow it just doesn't look like Kate. I can't put my finger on what it is, maybe it's a combination of the distinct lack of liquid liner and a little too much airbrushing? The 'meet Mrs Jamie Hince' was quite a cute tag though.

It got me thinking about her other covers, and these are a few of my favourite:

long or short?

Now normally I am always a legs girl, but lately I seem to have developed a sudden obsession with maxi and midi skirts. Still not wholly convinced I could pull one off though.
